Because the number of NFL caliber quarterbacks is exponentially smaller than CB or WR. That is why NFL teams draft QBs so high, many with glaring flaws, and overpay them. Grading and projecting quarterbacks is also much more difficult. That is why so many really good high school quarterbacks flame out in college. And why so many really good college quarterbacks flame out in the NFL. Projecting how a QB will perform at the next level is very difficult. And why some of the highest rated high school QB prospects never see the field besides holding a clipboard in college.

As for Milroe, I think he is probably the best Alabama has right now. I can’t see Saban and now Deboer not playing the quarterback they think gives them the best chance to win.
