I think it's pretty clear that LSU pays players, I'm sure they pay market value, they may pay certain players more than market value.
Kelly is clearly saying they aren't going to pay some outlandish number to some random transfer portal player though.

That just isn't true.
Look at Kadyn Proctor, it was widely reported that he took less money to come to Alabama and be coached by Saban.
