It's like feeding a feral cat. Once you feed it once you can't get rid of it.
Once the dam broke with lawyers winning a lawsuit and thusly getting paid, you can't get rid of them. They'll keep finding ways to use the courts to extract as much money as possible from this situation because they DGAF about college athletics.
When the lifeless corpse of college athletics is bled completely dry, they'll just slither away to find something else on which to feed.
