It actually isn't, you just don't like the way it's framed.

It's bullshite on multiple levels.

Brian Kelly was hired at the end of November, not January. All those who transferred did so after he was there. They could have stayed and played for BK, and did not. So either BK let them know he didn't want them, made no effort to keep them, or they just didn't want to play for him.

And everyone always counts the next years class. I didn't make that framing, it's the way it's done. And it's within that same framing that you are trying to claim 39 and that's why it's bullshite.

When people start claiming they were down to 55-60 scholarships every single year instead of counting their incoming classes, then I'll stop claiming it's bullshite. Until then, it's a bullshite stat that only LSU fans cite as an excuse for his underwhelming results.

Everyone counts "ranking at the time of the game" toward ranked wins but you only count "ranking at end of season" so it seems as if that argument is a bit hypocritical.

I don't think his results have been all that underwhelming, he has the second highest win percentage in the conference after taking over a team that went .500 two seasons in a row.

Regardless, the statement that he only had 40 or so scholarship players when he took over is factual.
