My cousin, who lurks on here, is giving me hell about not putting Alabama 2022 and Georgia 2016 on here instead of these two.

First off, the Georgia win was UT's the whole way. After Georgia got a last second desperation bomb, UT returned the favor with the Dobb nail boot. I totally expected Tennessee to win that game for all but about 10 seconds of it. The ending wasn't iconic, but it WAS comic (in that I was laughing my azz off at Kirby's dazed and confused look and all the surrender cobras in the stands).

Besides, I don't think Georgia was even ranked, while UT was one spot out of the top ten.

EDIT: Correction: Georgia was barely ranked, taking the final spot at #25. The AP got them in there so it would be MUH TOP 25 MATCHUP.

As far as Gumpfest '22, while a great ending, its only one season removed. That's much too early to give it 'iconic ending' status like has been awarded to Arkansas 98 and ND 91 in my opinion.

A little long but Stoerner talks about redemption in 1999 for that loss…
