It's a 5 year contract. In 5 years he will be 70 and ready to retire from coaching. If we get 3-4 years that will be great.

Exactly this. The UK fans are acting like scorned women, trying to warn the new woman marrying their ex husband of his flaws.

We aren't signing a lifetime contract with Cal like UK had. We're giving him everything he says he was missing at UK and seeing what the Hall of Fame coach can do. Both parties know it's finite, but both parties benefit by a rejuvenated Calipari that wants to go out with a bang and has something to prove.

His hiring has been the talk of the sports world for several days now, and will continue to be for several more days as he builds his team. He brought Arkansas basketball back to the forefront, so even if he only makes it a handful of years he'll stack the team with talent and elevate the optics of the job for the next guy. He also elevated our NIL situation across all sports almost immediately.

There really is no way we lose with this hire, and UK fans have made it extremely apparent on this board that they are salty about it despite "wanting him gone". The guy gave up a $33 million payday to go somewhere he thinks he can go out on top, I highly doubt 99.99999999999999999% of people in existence have bet that much money on themselves.
