“Why is Grant's Presidental library at MSU?”
State is located halfway between Shiloh and Vicksburg where his name became prominent in the Civil War. Many felt that the library can serve as beacon of reconciliation, that it could present actual facts instead of half truths, dispel some myths etc.
Plus there are only 6 universities in the US that are host to a Presidential Library so the fact that Mississippi State is one of those is pretty cool.
I have been wanting to go there for a while but just haven’t had the chance yet.

The Grant Presidential Library also holds one of the largest collections of Abraham Lincoln memorabilia in the country.
