One interesting advantage UConn will have in this era is NIL

They do not care one iota about their football program (that has only even existed for a few years). They will be able to funnel virtually all of their NIL pool into the basketball program. Granted, their football program also doesn't bring in much revenue. However, when your wealthy boosters/donors only have to really give their money to fund one sport (that requires a lot less money to fund), that can be a huge advantage for them.

The solace I took from UCONN tonight was: We made the final four in Basketball and could be back as soon as next year, while they will never sniff the CFB playoff, 12/16 teams or not.

But they’ll get squeezed out even more when the SEC/Big 10 become the super conference in the coming years.

Remember a few years ago when Alabama dominated football by being one of the few schools paying players? Now that everyone can do it, their coach retired, and their fans are whiny bitches. Suck it up, buttercup.
