Perhaps part of the reason I feel strongly about it is because of active duty in the military. I have friends that died for this country and the flag. And to disrespect that ...
It's kind of like not saying the pledge of allegiance in school anymore because of this "woke" society. I loathe what this new generation has become with the pronouns, I don't have to work, don't stand for the anthem, etc.

I'm retired military and I spent 20+ years defending the rights of ungrateful people to shite all over my values. It comes with the territory.
