Of course people talk about making the Elite 8 or Final 4 . And they certainly are what sticks out and do certainly matter.

However, give me the coaches that continually have very good seasons and therefore make the tourney with a decent seed and the Elite 8s or Final Fours will tend to happen.

Often with the weaker of their good teams too.


There's just so much luck involved in only 1 or 2 basketball games.

One shot missed or made and Alabama doesn't make the Elite 8 this year but beats UCLA a couple of years back with the Herb Jone's team and ends up in the Final Four.

Auburn could have easily made a couple of plays against Yale this year and then won a 2 more games.

It's such a crap shoot that you just want a program that's there rolling the dice every year.
