I assume one major issue is that many coaches’ offices are all in Coleman. All coaches’ offices, other than football, are in Coleman. Plus, there is a sort of command center at the bottom that houses a lot of vital communications equipment. I know that when the April 2011 tornado happened, that served as a communications hub and safe space from the weather. All that said, they could build a new arena elsewhere, tear down Coleman and use that space for a new building that supports the coaches’ offices and communications hub. It is not as if UA is short on money. They are constantly refacing buildings, renovating, changing the campus infrastructure.

The plan is to build the arena near US-82 close to Campus Avenue at the edge of the Old Bryce Campus.

Coleman is going nowhere; will continue to host UA Athletics and be used in its administrative and event hosting capacity.

My guess is men's and women's basketball will move to the new arena. Volleyball will get to claim Foster Auditorium completely. At some point they will renovate Coleman Coliseum to better suit whatever is needed for other indoor sports not hosted at the Aquatic Center. They could certainly do to improve the sight lines for watching all four events at a gymnastics meet.
