Chris Mack is the big name we're hearing. Maybe some of you UK fans can enlighten me on his time at UL? Not terribly familiar with his history.

Also hearing Bucky McMillian from Samford, Pat Kelsey, Josh Scherz, and Kyle Smith.

Personally I think it would be a great hire, the hire I wish A&M had made instead of Buzz. For whatever reason it didn't work out at UL but he killed it Xavier, plays and an entertaining style of ball, recruits well, and is just a good head coach that is need of a turnaround at a school that would give him time. Won a few conference championships, made some deep tourney runs, including a final four. I do wonder what would have happened at UL had COVID not happened. He had a hell of a team ready for a deep run in the COVID shortened season but never regained their steam following COVID

As an X's and O's guy he's fine. As a recruiter he's mid. I think he had more players transfer out than he signed.

They were already under Probation for the Hooker thing and then he had that whole scandal where another coach at lousville tried to extort him for some NCAA violations they committed.

Then his personality didn't mesh with the administration... dudes just crabby and didn't seem interested in building relationships with anyone. He often got combative with the sports writers after games. He also liked to post about politics, in his final days at Louisville his twitter profile looked like a Truth Social burner account. Not the best for recruiting young people.

Overall I'm sure he'd do fine at a place like Vandy where the pressure to get to final fours isn't crazy like at Louisville but it would be a weird fit.

Mack felt like he did not have the support of the Administration. He's a good coach. Had us #1 in the country at one point. I feel like the COVID time ruined any momentum he had. His style of play did not please a lot of fans
