The five teams per division is still pretty difficult to manage.
If you up the SEC to 20 teams (please God no) then you have four five team divisions? And then you rotate divisions plus a permanent to play ten conference games?
Easier to have four team divisions and stay with sixteen. Eight conference games gets you the same result then plus allows out of conference teams to play.
