Not seeing any backpedaling.
A NCAA lawyer not admitting to knowing about an investigation that is not publicly acknowledged by the NCAA isn't backpedaling.
It's simply what he has to say to not have Tennessee file a grievance for publicly talking about an investigation the NCAA is not supposed to publicly acknowledge. Not sure why the Tennessee nug-hangers don't understand that.
