The new thing has been dilution of talent. With NIL and mainly the portal, you can't stack players like you could before.

Michigan was a very good team like about 7 teams in CFB this season.

There were probably 3 or 4 teams that could have beaten Michigan this year for the NC.

Michigan is not a team that is head and shoulders above anyone. But, they did earn it on the field.

I think that's the formula going forward in a 12 team playoff: earn it on the field. And that's not really a formula is it? There is no formula really.
