Can’t speak for LSU but for UGA it boils down to the same reason someone loses when 2 evenly matched teams meet…. It comes down to depth and talent. In the 2017 SEC CG Alabama and UGA were pretty evenly matched, Alabama had an edge in depth and talent and won. Same in 2018. UGA was outmatched in 2020. When the SEC CG was played in 2021 UGA was missing key depth and talent and Bama won. In the rematch UGA was completely healthy, Alabama was not, UGA won. In 2023 UGA was missing talented depth, Alabama was deeper with talent for the game and won.

As deep and talented as UGA has been and is Alabama has had an edge, at the time the game was played, and won, same as it’s always been.

This is not saying UGA lost due to injuries. Injuries are part of the game for everyone. If your deep enough and have enough talent you have someone step up. You don’t have a big drop off in production. Alabama has had the edge in depth and talent.

BS

UGA has been recruiting as well as Bama for many years now. They simply choke when they play Bama because Bama is in their heads.
