He's just very proud of Mr. Daniels. He lifted him up so he wouldn't get hurt by the other UGA players looking to crush him.
To be completely serious, he actually did protect Daniels on that play. He lifted him up until the refs blew the whistle and then set him down gently. A "normal" football play would have resulted in Daniels taking a big hit.
Even Daniels was smiling at the end of the play.
