Do you really get to cry about what someone said about your dead teammate when you were the one street racing with him?

The player who died (Devon Willock) wasn't driving the car.

The issue is the person who was driving the car was driving under the influence (she died as well). There's a reason why Carter was not charged with anything other than reckless driving. His actions were not tied to the accident (he was well up the road when the woman crashed her vehicle).

It's the big reason why nobody is getting a payday from lawsuits surrounding the accident. The person at fault is dead and has no assets to go after. They can't even go after the school as she was breaking school policy by driving the vehicle at all.

Drinking and driving is dangerous. It cost two people their lives.

This isn't really meant as a defense for racing cars or threatening the family of the guy you're lining up against on a football field. It's simply a statement of the facts of that particular accident. Carter's car was not close to the one that crashed when it happened. The police report indicates the driver of the vehicle that crashed was under the influence and no other vehicle on the road contributed to the accident.

The cause of the accident was a drunk driver.
