I think there’s a SMALL chance her husband just lost track of her, just due to a personal experience of mine.

Someone drugged my girlfriend in a bar our freshman year (like 2nd week after move-in) and he took her out of the bar while I was rounding up our friends to help me get her home. I turned my back and it seemed like she was just gone. Catch up to this dude who I recognize from the bar about a block down the street in a Bank of America parking lot, carrying my girlfriend to his car. He sets her down and puts his hands up saying “hey, I just found her”. As soon as I check on her and see that she’s okay, I start throwing right crosses into that frickers face. It took my friends a while to catch up to me and pull me off and I’m pretty sure I broke some bones in my hand, but I was going off rage and adrenaline. Our friends pile us into a taxi van and we took off before any cops arrive. We all learned valuable lessons about bar safety that night.

My girlfriend repaid me nicely the next year by cheating on me. Nice girl. I missed her family more than I missed her.

I used to blow off the "I was drugged" stories as girls getting wasted and making bad decisions. Until it happened to me. I was out with some girls in New Orleans and one of them ordered a round of drinks. After she ordered, I ended up paying for the round and getting them from the bar. I had about half the drink, went to the bathroom and don't remember anything until I woke up at the hotel. It was the start of the night and only my second drink. The people I was with said I was fine and went to the bathroom and "came back as another person." 100% I was drugged.

I have been blackout drunk and you always get some memories back. At least flashes of the evening. That night is a complete blank spot in my life. Pretty disconcerting really. I am just glad it wasn't the whole group. All I can figure is one of the bartenders must have had his eyes on one of the girls in the group or planned to maybe rob one of us? It was weird to me they would spike one drink out of an order of three.
