Just watched a YouTube short on why it’s called “Death Valley”

LINK to the YouTube short video

Pretty cool story behind Tiger Stadium. Two questions for LSU fans:

1. Is this video true?
2. I read online that Clemson claims they came up with Death Valley first, but I doubt they have as cool of story behind it. Would you want to go back to calling it “Deaf Valley”? The explanation behind “Deaf Valley” is actually pretty awesome.

Because the smell of drunk unbathed cajuns is as close to the smell of death as you can get?

To be honest, I wish it would have stayed Deaf Valley. But, if you go to a game early in the season, it feels as hot as Death Valley, California. I’ve got to admit though, that quote by Les Miles was pretty clever…”Where opponents dreams go to die”. Uncharacteristically eloquent for ole Les.

Sadly, it’s probably politically incorrect or insensitive to call it Deaf Valley at this point. Probably need to be Hearing Impaired Valley.
