We shouldn’t have to. It’s a dumbass rule that the portal opens for 30 days upon a coaching change. Just another instance of all power being handed to the player with no recourse for the new coach or the school. The pendulum has swung so far in favor of the kid, I won’t be surprised if some coaches follow Saban into retirement or to the NFL. The rules surrounding college football have become completely asinine. The only way any good comes of this is if it hastens the Power 5 separating from the NCAA to self govern and create some limitations and guardrails for this chaos.

Agreed. The portal opens in the spring. If they want to leave, let them leave then.
