I don’t think you understand what rebuilding means. Coaches would kill to have the talent DeBoer is walking into.

It’s completely fair to temper expectations and I agree that’s a good way to look at it but you guys are acting like we lost our entire 2 deep.

This team was a Natty contender before Nick left. Top 3 team coming into 2024. We’ve lost 3 or 4 starters to the portal so far. That’s not enough to suddenly shift us to “rebuilding” mode.

I think I understand what rebuilding means. I coached HS FB and Bb for 30 years.
I’m not saying the sky is falling. I’m not saying we will have a losing season.
I am saying that we have lost some depth and some key players, and a new system will take some time to jell.
I am tickled with the hires and I think CKD will do a good job. But I will not hold it against him if bama goes 8-4 next year. I will not hold it against him if bama does not make the playoff.
To insinuate that we hired the wrong guy if he doesn’t do this or that by year three is unfair.
I know the cupboard is not bare, and there are still some studs on the team. I have high hopes just like you do. Maybe I’m willing to be a little more patient in getting where we all hope to be.
