Haven’t seen much more than the usual woodies at my spot. Was really hopeful that this front would push some more ducks down with only two weeks left. Come Feb 1st the ponds around the house will be loaded.

Wish I had a nice, warm blind in the deep water woods. Perfect conditions for green-clear, cold.

Out here freezing my balls off. Two greyducks so far. Only seen a few groups and no geese migrating. And wind chill 10 degrees.

Probably won't see many today. they gonna raft up and try to get out this wind. Might have also pushed the ducks that were around out.

I hunted the marsh below Lake Charles on Monday. I thought the front would push some birds down…I was wrong. Drove back to MS and cleaned my gear up for the year.

I am done!

fresh mallards and other random assortments like ruddies and more black Jax and greys in CenLa. We are still shooting blue wings, which I have never in my entire life shot a blue wing up here past the first split. Weather has definitely pushed them down. Few buddies non hunting ponds up toward Monroe were filled with mallards and teal yesterday.

a tale of two cousins...

1. hunting 6 miles north of Lacassine blind only fired 10 shots yesterday.

2. hunting off toledo bend - 18 in 45 mins no divers.

made a woodcock hunt just North of state line from BR yesterday - saw quite a few ducks flying high. Never seen anything but woodies at this spot. These weren't woodrows.

This is a reason why sportsmen from all over our state need to advocate and demand a 30 day later start to most seasons. Move archery deer from Nov 1 - Feb 28 etc. Out hunting weather conditions are 1 month later now. Our Oct weather we used to have now is in Nov. LA could still keep dove season in Sept to co-exist with corn harvesting, but start other seasons 30 days later and end them 30 days later.

No new ducks in venice. Hunted Delta and scouted Pass A Loutre WMA. Same old ducks that have been here. Most won't come within 75 yds of anything that even looks like vegetation. Places that would have had thousands of ducks after a front like this have only a few dozen.

Hunted Lockport on Monday morning before the front hoping they would be ahead of it. Didn't see much movement at all.

Ducks are here, more than I've seen in several years in Concordia Parish.

The snipe are really what I saw yesterday, so apparently the weather really pushed em.
