Saban had so much success, for so long, that people thought he had the Midas touch. Assistants who were with him for any length of time were hired away by programs hoping they had acquired some secrets by coaching for him. It will take awhile for DeBoer to achieve that status, if he can. At least in the beginning, people will discount some of his success as being due to being at Alabama where Saban had built the program.
