Also when you add Cost of Living, those numbers in terms of real income (inflation adjusted) are going to be a lot different. Texas does measure well in that there cost of Living is 93%, whereas California is 134.5. So take California Income of 844,000k divided by 1.345 and real income is $627,509. It would be real interesting to take median household income and divided it by those Cost of Living factors.
