Penix - 5th year starter
McCarthy - 3rd year starter
Ewers - 2nd year starter
Milroe - 1st year starter

Also Michigan has a much better defense than Washington or Texas, Michigan has the #1 scoring defense in the country.

You're comparing apples to oranges.

Tbf he faced the best defense ( UM plays more sound defense than Bama) out of any of them but yeah that’s still pretty bad

Do all the bad snaps count against the qb's rushing or just sacks.

I bet Penix, his skill players, and OC will thrash the hell outta Michigans defense.

I doubt it. Even if he does it doesn't change the fact this is a bad comparison.

Vegas has Washington projected to score 26.5 points.

Jam Miller had one carry for 11 yards if anyone was curious.

Justice Haynes had 4 carries for 31 yards 8 yds per carry

I've got to the point where all the loyal bullshite in this modern day semi pro ball league has got to go. I know that's probably not a popular opinion, but we just watched an entire season of the most boring RB play I can ever truly recall... even before Saban Bama always had good RB's.

Meanwhile Jam Miller and his 1 carry for 11 yards and Justice Haynes 4 carries for 31 yards both LOOKED better. They bring some juice to the backfield but... "seniority"

Jam Miller especially. That dude has Josh Jacobs written all over him. We're gonna get five seconds of use out of him then he'll be off to the NFL to be a stud for somebody. I mean Jam and Justice both just have that DUDE vibe out there like the Bama RB's of the past.

Don't even get me started on how Dalcourt managed to start in front of Roberts for so long. I'm not sure coach knew who Roberts was until he saw him out in the parking lot bench pressing his Benz after practice for the extra reps. (team voted him strongest guy on the team- was sitting behind Dalcourt the human turnstile)

Milroe was sacked 6 times.

He was the least "mobile QB" out of the four with 3yd per carry.

No they don't. That Texas defense is legit.

116 yards on 23 throws is abysmal. He didn't even break 200 yards of offense if you add rushing yards. He's started in 14 college football games and played several high quality defenses. It isn't all on him but a lot of it is...

I totally agree. The entire Texas front is going to the NFL. If Washington OL and Penix could get the ball out vs them they wont have any problem with Michigan IMO. Good. I hope Washington stomps the shite outta them. DeBoer is a sharp coach. Wish he was from the south. lol

I wasn't really comparing them as much as just providing the stats, but ironically if I had to rank the four the outcomes came out exactly as I would have ranked them so there has to be something to these stats my ol Woolly buddy.

Penix, Ewers, McCarthy, Milroe

Texas's strength on defense is you couldn't run on their arse AT ALL with the tailback. You had to have a QB runner to get rushing yards. To be sure, Penix ran some in the Sugar Bowl to keep them honest.

Milroe hit several big passes on these guys. Their secondary doesn't really play well in man coverage. They want to get you out of standard down and distance situations and get you to make mistakes against zone coverages. Milroe got hoodwinked by this as we all remember regrettably. Furthermore, they don't really have an elite pass rusher but got it done as a unit with 4 guys between 4.0 to 5.5 sacks individually.

Washington was probably the toughest matchup for them in the bracket. Penix has played a lot of snaps in college football and was always a natural thrower even at indiana. He had a ton of familiarity with this scheme too. I thought Texas would win and they probably would have if not for turnovers. I'm not surprised Penix torched them though. I was just surprised Texas was so inefficient on offense. Hell, one of the turnovers was caused by a Texas player not even Washington. Just a cursed night against the wrong opponent.

The irony is people use to trash Penix as well.

Milroe first year of starting he had a higher QBR and completion percentage than Penix his 5th season (last year).

This is all with Milroe’s first two years in college being a wash because Bill O'Brien didn't develop Bryce talk much Milroe or Ty Simpson.

Milroe is limited and learning but it's overkill how much hate he is getting. When your QB is limited at least hike him the damn ball so he doesn't have to concentrate more on getting the snap than actually reading and running the play.

Like I said, it isn't all on him but a lot of it is...

Furthermore, If he doesn't think that right now then he ain't wired up right to be a top level athlete. He needs to be focused on improvement. Every single returning player on offense does. What the 2023 edition of Alabama football put on the field as the offensive product doesn't cut it.
