I say Dabo. If Saban bolted in the next year or so. He took Clemson to the top. Nobody can say that. Once he gets accustomed to the new ways of CFB he will be right back in the hunt.

Lane still has a lot to prove. (Plus he hired Golding) He has failed in so many jobs that hoping he has grown up to go along with a few decent years does not warrant the Bama job. Freeze and Mullins both had great years at the Mississippi schools but looking back none of us would take either of those guys.

I’m not team anybody because Saban is still the coach. Picking a replacement is something to address when that’s no longer the case.

Having said that

is demonstrably untrue.

He failed with the Raiders in the NFL. He was 30 and everyone else fails there too. As a college coach, he’s had one losing season (5-7 in 2018 @FAU in 13 years as a head coach and that includes his partial season record when Joey Freshwater got him fired at USC in 2013.
