What makes you think auburn is anything other than a middle of the road football school? What makes you think they should be in the "elite" class of teams? Auburn has 2 National Championships in the last 70+ years. The United States has 1 gold metal for hockey in the Olympics over the last 70 years, yet no one would consider the US "elite" at hockey.
Who would you consider Auburns 3 biggest rivals? Alabama, Georgia and LSU? Auburns records against these 3 is.
Alabama 50 - 37 - 1
Georgia 61 - 56 - 8
LSU 33 - 24 - 1
Auburn has a losing record all time against your 3 biggest rivals. There is absolutely NOTHING elite about that.
