I think we had problems with grass

We've had problems with both turf and grass at various times. The main problem is we have a fall rainy season. Campus hills and the river make for unique problems.

When we get heavy fall rains in late summer/early fall it can lead to problems if a game is played on it too soon. It's one of the reason we now have a ridiculous drainage system.

UK installed an underdrain system under their grass field and still the combo of rain and freezes left the field marginally playable.

The KHSAA championships for 6 divisions is played there in late November. Turf was the better option.
