Wow what legal team would advise in institution to sign a contract and not even get a copy of the contract... especially one as important as that..... Always get a copy of everything and anything you sign... First thing you learn in law school

Hince why it's gonna be messy.
I see your point, but WHY sign such a LONG (time) contract too? Either could mean they have something over you, OR the person who signed it was STUPID to agree to those terms (& should the other party be at fault for that)?
