Because it was a catch. The only reason anybody is talking about it is because Gary Danielson implied that it might not have been a catch. He does stuff like that all the time. Nobody else outside of the fans are even talking about it.

My favorite was early in the game Gary says “ OH, it’s like like Bama got away with a holding call there”. He kept on about it, when they showed it in slow motion he retracts his statement and says “ that was good no call”.
So, he spews his mouth live on air to create controversy, only to see the play back and say “ good no call there.”
Why even mention shite like that at all when announcing if you aren’t sure. You’re not the GD Ref Gary. Good riddance!
