The ACC as a whole still had a better record.

The elite SEC teams are still playing these shitty SEC teams that the ACC beat in head to head. You cant say the SEC was a gauntlet when it was full of shite that the ACC also beat head to head.

Vs SEC Playoff Ranked Teams (Bama, UGA, Mizzou, Miss, LSU, Tennessee)

Vanderbilt : 0-4
South Carolina : 0-3
Kentucky : 0-4
Texas A&M : 0-3
Florida : 1-3

Total : 1-17

That does not make the ACC a better conference. They just beat up on bad SEC teams. The only team to play all of these teams is UTk. I think you can say the East is average to bad, and that’s been the case for decades.

The SEC is better than the ACC. Compare the Strength of Schedule for Alabama and FSU.
