Agree with you but don’t you think the 13th ranked team will be melting next year? Same as the 5th ranked team today.

that melt was honestly fair
I'd melt so badly too if we were 13-0 and got left out despite having the better metrics than 2 of the teams that got in

No.
I would not be “melting” if Auburn was denied the 12 team playoff if we were ranked 13. LSU is 9-3 and ranked 13 now. That is not a likely champion.
I would be melting if Auburn was 13-0 and undefeated like FSU this year.
The two are not comparable at all.
