This is the point I’m making. They weren’t put in a position to be successful. Asking db’s at any level to cover sideline to sideline with ZERO pass rush for 10 plus seconds is a recipe for disaster. He could have waited 20 or 30 seconds to make that throw. It’s a do or die situation. That ball can only be thrown to the end zone! If he heaves it up under pressure and they get a lucky tip, it sucks but that’s football. That bullshite last night was embarrassing and if that’s best you can come up with, out of a timeout, you deserve to get beat. The fricked up part is if you’re honest with yourself you knew the ending of that game was coming before it happened. Hell even after it happened we had a guy running the ensuing kickoff out of the end zone to the 10 or 15 instead of taking it at the 35. It’s such low IQ football that it’s maddening. Instead of needing 20 or 25 yards to get into field goal range, frick it, let’s make it 50 or 60..

I wasnt too mad about it. Kickoffs are unpredictable and he was an all american KO returner...last year.

Asking the DBs to cover sideline to sideline is not that big of a deal especially when you have numbers (our 8 DBs to their 5 or 6 wr) and it’s only the end zone they have to cover. I would’ve called a similar play. Get you and 7 of you buddies to stand in the end zone and see how little space is left…….we’re giving these players a pass and putting too much on Roberts which held a good Alabama team to 27 points even after a bad muffed punt.
