This wasn't true a few years ago. There used to be a lot more "Mizzou doesn't belong", "send them back to the Big 12", "not an SEC school" commentary around here. And Aggy used to get more of a pass because it spent big money, has a gigantic stadium, and does have a strong (albeit weird) fanbase. I think what's happened is that more SEC fans have now actually visited Columbia, MO for a football game and realized that we aren't foreign weirdos and experienced that Mizzou/Columbia is a fun roadtrip. It's not the rowdiest crowd in the SEC by any means, but it's not a bad place to spend a weekend in the Fall. Mizzou finally having a competitive team this season doesn't hurt. Meanwhile, Texas A&M keeps underperforming and doubling down by spending more money to buy success.

Everyone including the Gumps take their lumps and to your point, Mizzou got way more shite when they first entered other than from Arkansas fans who knew Aggie from the SWC days and some LSU fans.
