The playoff should be about where teams are in November relative to the entirety of the season not where they were in September.

If Texas passed the eye test the rest of the way there is no way Alabama should be selected ahead of them...but Texas has not passed the eye test several times since they played Alabama. Texas lost to a team that lost to a team that just got annhilated by Central Florida...
