If the pass had been ruled incomplete initially, I think that call would have stood as well...for exactly the same reason.

In real time the ref didn't see the bobble. Replay clearly did. He didn't get possession until out of bounds. Easy overturn. But for some reason Birmingham decided to leave it. The on field ref told Lane that he didn't agree but it wasn't his call.
