For some reason, I had forgotten their milestone achievement that season.

2003 was crazy.

Georgia - Lost to Florida and LSU
Tennessee - Lost to Georgia and Auburn
Florida - Lost to Tennessee and Ole Miss

I think the SEC protocol at the time was to take the highest ranked team, if there were no other tie-breaker solutions.

After all the usual tiebreakers you would expect I think the next one came down to BCS rankings. They would toss out the third ranked team and just compare the first two which is why we ended up going, but if memory serves if the next team was within a certain amount of spots as the first one it would go on to the next tiebreaker. I think I remember that the very very last possible tiebreaker was a vote among the rest of the league presidents LOL

Looking at the standings since 2003, ties are relatively common, but there hasn't been a 3-way divisional tie since 2003
