I agree that contract was ridiculous. But no coach at Michigan State is likely to be able to overcome the advantages of Michigan and Ohio State. I hate conspiracy theories in general, but I wouldn't be shocked if the board there set him up to be fired.

I look for it to become a common tactic at most high profile universities who have coaches with huge buyouts.
Start the set-up as soon as they sign the contract, if they win, look the other way, if they don't, use your ace in the hole to get rid of them.
