I am not going to go back and watch the game to see if my imression is right but in my mind from thinking a little about the game, I think Rees called a different game for Buchner than he did for Simpson.

Buchner is limited on his ablility when it come to deep throws. His sweet spot is quick short passes. His negative there is a low release point so the short passes have to get out before the D-line or a blitz can get their hands up and knock the ball down. I think Rees took that into account in calling the game for Buchner. Short quick passes would also limit the ability for a pass rush to get to the QB (much like what Sark did the week before).

Simpson's sweet spot looks to be intermediate to long throws over the middle. His high release point helps with those throws. The problem is, The O-line has to block a little longer and the RB's have to engage bitzers rather than just cut them down. My memory says that Rees called the game for Simpson more toward the longer delivery throws rather than the short quick throws. That would account for the pass rush to have a better chance to get to him.

Is my memory at least somewhat correct? Or is my mind making up answers to fit with the heavier sack conditions Simson encountered?

I know that some of the sacks fall on the QB instead of just the O-line and RB's but the blocking had a lot to do with 3 or more of the 5 sacks.

He did and I pointed it out during the game and after.

Rees was throwing quicks to keep Buchner away from pressure. However when Ty came in he stopped and was making him drop back... the same way he makes Milroe drop back.

Ty gave up at least 2 sacks taking time trying to figure out who to throw to. This shouldn't have happened with an OC with a brain because he would have schemed something comfortable to ease Ty in like he tried to ease his transfer Buchner.

Rees is a big part of our problem just like the offensive line. If he could actually scheme well we wouldn't have a running QB doing a 5 step dropback on max protect with only two WR options.

That was a weird play( 2nd int in tx game) At first I thought it may have been a designed qb draw, or an effort to hit brooks long. The middle was ridiculously wide open. Brooks got held by their corner. But Milroe never looked anywhere but toward burton, so I don’t know.
