Alabama (33-16, 10-14 SEC) allowed Auburn (27-18-1, 9-15 SEC) to take the first lead of the game on a pair of RBI singles in the second and a fourth-inning solo home run from Amelia Lech later made it 3-0. The Crimson Tide didn't threaten until the top of the sixth, putting two on with one out but a strikeout and popup ended the potential rally to keep it a three-run game, which ultimately proved final.
