The real answer is Georgia Tech
It's not, you know that. Also, I don't give a fat rat's arse, coach speak is irrelevant, your coach HATES UF more than he hates every other team.
It is. GT. First and foremost. Until Spurrier became HC at Florida the UGA/UF series was more or less a rent-a-win situation for UGA. Just the names of the game alone is enough for anyone who thinks about to know which game is more of a rival. One is the "World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party". The other is "Good Old Fashioned Hate". The former is whimsical, it brings to mind friends and family getting together to enjoy a celebration together. The latter is about mortal enemies. Ray Goff was 1-6 against UF and 6-1 against Tech. He lasted 7 seasons at UGA. Jim Donnan was 3-3 against Tech and 1-5 against UF. He managed to last 6 seasons. That 3 game losing streak to GT was FAR more the cause of his getting ran slap the frick out of Athens than his losing to UF in the only era in CFB history where UF was anything more than a middle of the pack program. Losing to GT is UNACCEPTABLE to UGA fans. Losing to UF is more acceptable. I suspect that most UF fans would take a win over FSU over a win against UGA if they had to choose. FSU has only been playing football for 76 years and a lot of that time they weren't in the same league as UF. GT was once upon a time a blueblood....FSU has one era of being competitive, the rest of the time they were either bad or good. Being in state makes the game mean more for all 4 programs...UF is only slightly, if any, bigger as a UGA rival than Auburn.
