Because they have two programs that are deep into the all-time wins list of college football. Michigan and Ohio St.
Then there's Penn St which is on the top 20 list as well. All three are helmet schools. The media loves winning programs and they have 3.
4 if you count Nebraska. Though Nebraska has been a smoldering dumpster fire, they have rich history

And as much as a dumpster fire as Nebraska has been recently they were still the 15th most watched CFB team last year.
