the young people of today simply can't comprehend what it was like back in those days. UGA fans 25 and under probably can't fathom being bad enough to rush the field. We were smack dab squarely in the middle of being "pretty good" yearly. Not nearly good enough to be great or knock on the door of any kind of championship, but not nearly terrible enough to clean house immediately. Winning 10 games in 1997 was an enormous ordeal. Then 9 the following year was still pretty sweet. Then 8 in '99. And again in '00...that coupled with losing 3 in a row to tech and the writing was on the wall. But back to the point...we'd lost 9 in a row to UT. Many were blowouts but some were gut wrenchingly close. UT wasn't their usual elite self in 2000 but we didn't fully know it at the time. WE controlled the game pretty much the whole way and a loooot of frustration was let out there on the field. Anyone that says rushing is stupid or an insult to the game or "beneath" UGA or blah blah blah, assuredly wasn't in the stands on that night.
