80's - SEC teams were rarely a serious national title contender.

90's - You had Florida, Alabama and Tennessee.

00's - Add LSU and Auburn, with Georgia and SC getting stronger.

Since 2010, Ole Miss, MSU, South Carolina and Kentucky all had their best seasons in decades. With the exception of Tennessee, everyone else remained competitive. Then you add Missouri and A&M, which have both had great seasons.
