I returned from vacation yesterday visiting the exact beach he died at. We were staying at the Sandpiper Cove in Destin on Gulf Shore Drive. The day we arrived, someone on the beach said a pregnant woman died from drowning on the beach the day before.
I also went out to the farthest sandbar as well, it’s about 70 yards out. I wouldn’t attempt the swim without some sort of floatation device. The water was very deep in between the sandbar and the shore. The sandbar itself was waste deep. Tragic news, I wish I could’ve been there today to possibly help.
