The SugarVols in 1985. The depleted Vols were a TD plus dog to Miami (coached by Jimmy Johnson QB Venny Testarede). Vols QB Daryl Dickey (yep he was a Tennessee QB) led the Vols in a 35-7 rout of the Hurricanes.

That game is often looked at the game that put the Vols back on the map and kicked off the 1985-2005 run for the Vols.

Now this is interesting. I've heard of the game. There is no doubt VOLS went on a tear for the next two decades (193-60-5).

Vols were representing the SEC since we were on a bowl ban. Miami was #2 and would've won the MNC since OU beat #1 Pedo St that night in the Orange Bowl.
