Also oft forgotten was that Tommy Tuberville was Miami's defensive coordinator.

Tubs was on staff, but I think Sonny Lubick was DC.
He assumed that role the following season when Lubick left to coach Colorado State (unless he was an interim coach just for the bowl game).
