I was born in 90 so I don’t remember the SEC without the Cocks and Pigs and fanbases are normally pretty cool IRL.

I was born way before that, and overall I liked the SEC being a 10-team league. It was great for basketball because your team played everyone else twice in the regular season. It was great for football because even though the league schedule was 6 and then 7 games, most schools played great home-and-home nonconference series.

I didn't like it for baseball because your team didn't play everyone else when in reality, a true round-robin schedule could have been played in a 27-game schedule (though the number of home and away games would have been uneven). In fact, for a long time in baseball, schools only played inside their divisions, with home-and-home visits for 24 games in the league. I don't think that changed until the late '80s.

The conference is too big at 14 and will really be too big at 16. But 16 helps everyone eventually play everyone more frequently in football, and that's what matters to me.
