1. Texass: you will play whenever the SEC Office says you will play. Go to the back of the line.

2. We have never had 8 schools in favor of the 9 game schedule, 3-6-6.

3. Part of the problem now is that ABC-ESPN-Disney does NOT want to add $$$ to our contract for OU and Texass and playing 9 games.

4. I hope LSU will vote for 8 games, 1-7-7. That is what is best for the SEC top-to-bottom.

Number 3 is the real factor. Rumors are that the Mouse ain't interested in paying for an additional conference game. Who knows if that is actually true, I've just seen Twitter and message board rumors. It doesn't make sense, at all. Moving to nine games virtually ensures the 3-6-6 model, which means more guaranteed marquee match-ups every single season. Which means more eyeballs. Which means more money for Disney.

Right now, the divisions guarantee annual Georgia-Vanderbilt, Georgia-Mizzou, and Georgia-Kentucky games, to the exclusion of say Georgia-Alabama or Georgia-LSU during the regular season. Those Big 6 cross-divisional games currently only happen once every seven seasons. Under the 3-6-6 model, you are guaranteed those games at least every other season. And no more annual Georgia-Vanderbilt.

According to the Athletic, Alabama, LSU, Florida, Georgia, Mizzou, Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas A&M have expressed support for the nine-game schedule. Kentucky, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss have publicly supported the eight-game schedule. The remaining schools have not publicly stated an opinion.

We keep hearing that, but is that the truth? Or does the SEC look at the 9th game as leverage to change the contract? That's a big deal.

If ESPN isn't buying then simply start with an 8 game schedule and if down the line they want more, they can pay for it.
